Anthony Corkle was born in December 1813 in Co. Mayo, Ireland.¹ He and Elizabeth Ellen Lynch were married on 27 February 1854 in Carlyle, Clinton, Illinois.² He died on 5 March 1872 at age 58 in Norfolk, Madison, Nebraska.¹ He was buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Battle Creek, Madison, Nebraska.³

He is supposed to have had a wife and children all of whom died on the voyage to America.
