Biography

John Campbell was born about 1760.1 He and Margaret Andrews were married on 24 March 1796 in Path Valley, Franklin Co, Penn.+.1
Whether he was the John married to Margaret Andrews is not known. John went down into KY with Wakefields, Armstrong, and McMakens ca. 1789, around Boone Station. They supposedly wouldn't tolerate the slavery issue, and came north again to Symmes Station at North Bend Ohio (six miles downstream from Cincinnati, Hamilton County. They bought Section #10 of Crosby Twp. Hamilton County, near North Bend, in 1802 when those Congress lands went up for sale. McMakens actually settled in Butler Co. a few miles away. John Campbell's wife as of 1820 when he sold some of his land to his sons, was Sarah Campbell. I have descendants of these lines for several generations, along with the Jane Campbell Ward line. Let me know if you are interested in any of the above. John Campbell was living on 3 March 1788.
