Biography

Joanna A. Childerston was born about 1832 in Maryland. David Murray and she were married say 1849. She died on 26 September 1875 in Baltimore, Maryland.¹

It is only presumed that she is the daughter of Levin & Margaret because Margaret was living with her in 1850 & 60. It might be that David was married to Mary Elizabeth, who died in 1846, and Margaret just stayed on, having no place else to go. There is a record of Joann Wheatly marrying David Murray in Dec 1848, so she is probably not a Childerston at all. This is all a theory based on Margaret Childerson's living with the Murray family in 1850. It could be another Joanna and his ex-mother-in-law was there just because she had no place else to go. Joanna A. Childerston appeared in the census in 1850 in Baltimore, Maryland.² David Murray and she appeared in the census on 30 June 1860 in Baltimore, Maryland.³ David Murray and she appeared in the census on 28 July 1870 at 14th Ward in Baltimore, Maryland.⁴
