Biography

Robert of Mortain was born in 1031. He and Mathilda de Montgomery were married. He died on 8 December 1090 at age ~59.
Robert, Count of Mortain, 1st Earl of Cornwall (died 1095) was a Norman nobleman and the half-brother of William I of England. Robert was the son of Herluin de Conteville and Herleva of Falaise (who was also William's mother) and was full brother to Odo of Bayeux. The exact year of Robert's birth is unknown (perhaps ca. 1038), although it is generally thought that Odo was the elder of the two, and that Robert was probably not more than a year or so younger than his sibling: there is considerable doubt about the year of Odo's birth. Biography

Mary Watterston was born PRHPS 5 DEC 1789 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. George Burnes and she were married before 1817.
Mary Watterston was baptized (infant) PRHPS 10 DEC 1789 at St. Cuthbert's in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 She appeared in the census PRHPS 1830 in Georgetown, District of Columbia. That she existed is certain. What is difficult to determine is what became of her post-1823. There is a Mary Burns listed in Georgetown in the 1830 and 1840 census but I can find no mention in contemporary newspapers. I need to find city directories of that era to see if she is listed. Another line of research might be to follow what happened to the land her father left her. Unfortunately the records in D.C. are poorly indexed. She was named an heir in the will of David Watterston in 1817.2 She owned several lots on 11 March 1823 in Washington, District of Columbia.3
