John Whitmarsh was born on 27 April 1700 in Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts+.¹ He and Hannah Phillips were married on 10 October 1720 in Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts+.² He and Ruth Lovell were married on 22 April 1731. He died intestate BY MAR 1739.

According to trees on FamilySearch, the only Ruth to marry a John Whitmarsh was Ruth Lovell (m. 1731 in Weymouth) after Hannah Phillips died. This John was supposed to have died at sea in 1751, not 1739. The estate of John Whitmarsh was probated on 3 March 1739 in Plymouth Co, Massachusetts. He was mentioned as deceased in the will of Capt. Ezra Whitmarsh on 17 April 1744.³
