Whitehaven is a small town and port on the coast of Cumbria, England. Historically part of Cumberland, it lies equidistant between the county's two largest settlements, Carlisle and Barrow-in-Furness. Whitehaven historically was an important port for shipping coal, iron ore and phosphate rock.
