Elisha Elcanie Thompson was born on 18 September 1824 in South Carolina. He and Mary Garner were married in October 1849 in Winston Co., Mississippi. He and Margaret Anglin were married on 3 September 1865 in Pulaski Co., Illinois.1 He and Maryann Elizabeth ("Mary") Sims were married on 1 January 1881 in Mississippi. He died on 14 March 1903 at age 78 in Kosciusko, Attala, Mississippi.
Elisha Elcanie Thompson appeared in the census PRHPS JUN 1865 in Pulaski Co., Illinois. "Sometime after the Confederate surrender in 1865 (apparently soon after), Elisha left Illinois and returned to Mississippi with his children and a new wife. His second wife was also named Mary but there is no record of her maiden name. They settled in or near the town of Ethel in Attala County, MS. Nothing is known about Elisha's second wife except that she died approximately one year after their marriage, having borne no children." He and Mary Garner appeared in the census on 11 September 1850 in Winston Co., Mississippi.2 He and Mary Garner appeared in the census on 3 August 1860 in Attala Co., Mississippi.3 He lived in Illinois from 1861 to 1865. He and Margaret Anglin appeared in the census on 22 June 1870 at Beat 5 in Attala Co., Mississippi.4 He and Margaret Anglin appeared in the census in 1880 at Beat 5 in Attala Co., Mississippi.5 He and Maryann Elizabeth ("Mary") Sims appeared in the census in 1900 at Beat 5 in Attala Co., Mississippi.6
