Margaret Anglin was born about 1823 in Illinois. Elisha Elcanie Thompson and she were married on 3 September 1865 in Pulaski Co., Illinois.1 She died before 20 August 1880.
(Her name is inferred from the 1865 marriage record of Elisha Thompson in Pulaski Co, Ill. The record does not say if she was single or widowed. There was a Margaret Anglin (b. 1821, Tenn.) in Pulaski Co. in the 1850 & 1860 censuses. She seemed to be part of a family of adult siblings.) "Sometime after the Confederate surrender in 1865 (apparently soon after), Elisha left Illinois and returned to Mississippi with his children and a new wife. His second wife was also named Mary but there is no record of her maiden name. They settled in or near the town of Ethel in Attala County, MS. Nothing is known about Elisha's second wife except that she died approximately one year after their marriage, having borne no children." Elisha Elcanie Thompson and Margaret Anglin appeared in the census on 22 June 1870 at Beat 5 in Attala Co., Mississippi.2 Elisha Elcanie Thompson and she appeared in the census in 1880 at Beat 5 in Attala Co., Mississippi.3
